Add-Ons

Complements for programs that include Cusco. Each add-on requires the additional number of nights indicated.

For those who want a second visit to Machu Picchu via a different route, or to climb Huayna Picchu with the first light of day, spending the night in Aguas Calientes is the only option. The town at the foot of the mountain has its own thermal and jungle-town charm, and arriving at the citadel before the crowds is a completely different experience.

Add-On 1. Night in Machu Picchu

1 extra night in Aguas Calientes

Day 1 · Cusco - Km 104 - Machu Picchu: The trek begins at Km 104, with direct access to the Wiñay Wayna sector and arrival at Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate — an entrance that those arriving by train will never see from this angle.

Day 2 · Machu Picchu - Cusco: Guided visit to the citadel in the morning, with time to explore it unhurried before the train back to Cusco.

Add-On 2. Short Inca Trail

1 extra night in Cusco

Day 1 · Cusco - Km 82 - Campsite: The classic trek begins at Km 82. The first day opens with Andean landscapes, rural communities, and the first archaeological sites along the trail.

Day 2 · Trek - Campsite: The most demanding day of the route, crossing Warmiwanusca pass at 4,215 meters. The effort is rewarded by the views and the absolute silence of the puna.

Day 3 · Trek - Campsite: A day through cloud forests and little-visited ruins. The vegetation changes, the air grows more humid, and the atmosphere grows more mystical as Machu Picchu approaches.

Day 4 · Trek - Machu Picchu - Cusco: Sunrise at the Sun Gate with the first view of Machu Picchu from above — an image that rewards every step of the previous three days. Guided visit to the citadel, then return to Cusco by train.

Add-On 3. Classic Inca Trail

3 nights camping en route to Machu Picchu

Day 1 · Cusco - Humantay Lake - Cusco: A hike to one of the most beautiful glacial lakes in the Andes, with turquoise waters at the foot of the Humantay glacier. The ascent is demanding and the view from the top justifies every step. A day that combines physical effort with pure natural beauty.

Add-On 4. Full Day Trek Humantay Lake

1 extra night in Cusco

Day 1 · Cusco - Rainbow Mountain - Cusco: Trek to Vinicunca, the mountain of seven colors at 5,200 meters above sea level. A geological formation unlike anything else in the world, with bands of red, yellow, green, and purple that look hand-painted. One of Peru's most photographed landscapes in recent years, and for good reason.

Add-On 5. Full Day Trek Rainbow Mountain

1 extra night in Cusco
